Job summary

NCR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, define, and deliver projects within a professional services context. You will design goals, establish success metrics, and keep initiatives on time and on budget while coordinating with PS technical leaders and senior management.

Responsibilities include preparing progress reports, managing risks and issues, creating SOWs and estimates, enforcing Change Control, and ensuring customer acceptance and revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference for CS/CE or related field.
• PM certification (PMP/PRINCE2) required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of project management in fee-for-service professional services.
• SDLC knowledge for planning and testing support.
• Experience in a professional services organization and NCR domains.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Job description

• Plan, define, and deliver projects
• Design project goals and success markers to determine how success will be measured and tracked
• Ensure projects remain on time and on budget
• Motivate team members to achieve project goals
• Liaise between project teams and upper-level management
• Prepare and present progress reports
• Ensure projects further organizational goals
• Maintain effective communication among all project stakeholders
• Complete or track completion of project tasks; escalates assignment conflicts and issues
• Work with PS Technical Leader and Team Leaders to generate estimates, SOWs, and CRs for future project work
• Manage the Change Control Process
• Adhere to NCR Project Management and Solution Delivery Methodology
• Enforce NCR Global PMO Processes
• Create and manage PS delivery project plans, including detailed Work-Breakdown-Structures
• Escalate poor team performance to PS management
• Prepare weekly or requested-frequency client status reports
• Hold weekly project status update meetings with the Client’s Project Manager
• Provide weekly internal project status reports to PS Partner, Client Partner, and Regional PMO when required
• Track and document project lessons learned
• Work with the Project Coordinator to develop data elements and reports for managing project performance
• Manage PSA project reporting for assigned projects
• Monitor all elements impacting project budgets
• Identify and manage risks, defects, and issues
• Monitor project status and completion against schedule and budget
• Secure on-time client acceptance of project deliverables; manage revenue recognition and forecasting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Project Management Certification required (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a fee-for-service professional services environment
• Strong organizational skills

• Good at managing multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree - preferably in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field, Project Management or equivalent in a business-related discipline

• NCR Domain experience (Banking, Hospitality, Retail, Technology & Telecommunications)
• Software Delivery Life-Cycle (SDLC) knowledge for planning and support of the development and testing efforts
