Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Program Manager to lead large, complex programs across interrelated projects aligned to strategic goals. You will establish governance, manage risks, and mentor PMO staff. The role requires 8+ years of program leadership in business and technical contexts, with PMP and experience in regulated industries.

Strong communication with executives is essential. Candidates should have a deep background in SDLC, data processing environments, and multiple project delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management and/or Computer Science or related field required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or related certifications or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8+ years of related experience in program management.
• Demonstrated program management experience and people leadership in business and technical environments.
• Experience in financial institutions or similarly regulatory industries and/or software development processes.
• Background in data processing environments, application systems, and communication systems.
• Ability to handle multiple complex projects within programs and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and constant change.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills for interacting with executive leadership, staff, and vendors.
• Ability to balance achieving business results, fostering collaboration, and influencing business strategies.
• Experience identifying and driving process improvements and documenting efficiency gains.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and all aspects of SDLC.

Job description

• Deliver very large, complex programs comprising interrelated projects aligned to strategic business goals
• Establish the project and program management framework
• Track progress, manage risk, and control change to meet time, cost, and quality objectives
• Manage other project managers' successful delivery of interrelated projects
• Understand portfolio priorities and drive successful business outcomes
• Manage all aspects of multiple interrelated projects within the program
• Align project and program plans, interdependencies, roadmaps, and resource capacity
• Perform program-level governance reviews to ensure projects are on time, within budget, and defect-free
• Monitor projects, mitigate risks, and resolve issues across the program
• Establish best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships
• Coach and mentor PMO team members
• Support internal and external project audits
• Schedule and track cross-project interdependencies and define critical program-level milestones
• Provide leadership and coaching to stakeholders for delivery of cost, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes
• Create and maintain the master program plan and status reporting for milestones, success criteria, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
• Communicate program status effectively, including to executive leadership
• Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data

Requirements
