$60.00/hr - $65.00/hr

IT Project Manager

Long-term contract with strong possibility of extension and/or conversion

Location: Remote

Our client is seeking a dynamic IT Project Manager to manage an existing enterprise-level client within the Property & Casualty division as they transition from one claims system to another. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication skills and a proactive, outgoing personality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the system conversion and migration for a major enterprise client.
  • Oversee and coordinate enhancements to the claims system and related interfaces.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in system conversions, migrations, and enhancements, particularly within claims systems (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Previous experience in client-facing roles, ideally within the insurance or P&C industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Outgoing and professional demeanor, with a focus on customer satisfaction and project success.

Successful candidates will have direct experience interacting with external clients, including presenting project materials via phone or video conferencing. The ability to adapt and update presentation materials in real time during meetings is essential. Candidates should also have a solid track record of creating and maintaining project timelines, as well as tracking progress across SDLC milestones to ensure successful project delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage project assignments from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Develop, prepare, and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, risk assessment, and quality metrics.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, risks, and results to stakeholders, executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide management with data-driven, actionable recommendations based on project performance and analysis.
  • Train team members and management on new systems, processes, and tools as needed to ensure operational readiness.
  • Identify, allocate, and manage resources effectively to support project success and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Conduct thorough research into project data, procedures, client history, and relevant documentation to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Analyze and compile statistical and operational data to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain regular and transparent communication with all relevant parties on project milestones, issues, and dependencies.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and external vendors to ensure project expectations are met.
  • Proactively identify, address, and resolve project issues, escalating to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Transition completed projects to operational teams with all necessary documentation and training.
  • Deliver or support oral presentations, project demos, and executive briefings as needed.
  • Champion organizational quality initiatives and ensure all project deliverables meet established standards and compliance requirements.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading enterprise-level projects, preferably in insurance, claims, or healthcare-related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Solid understanding of statistical techniques and ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to diverse and senior-level audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and team collaboration.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations and project outcomes.
