Senior Project Manager – Command Center and Outage Management

Location: Remote (Must reside in EST or CST time zones)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) to lead the successful upgrade of the Command Center software and Outage Management System within our utility operations. This individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of the software upgrade, ensuring alignment with operational goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing large-scale software upgrades in the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) space, particularly within the utilities industry, and possess strong vendor coordination and risk management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the Command Center and OMS software upgradeproject, including scope, timeline, and budget.
• Collaborate with internal teams (IT, AMI Operations, Regulatory, Customer Service, etc.) and external vendors to ensure seamless implementation.
• Define project milestones and deliverables, track progress, and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Coordinate testing (UAT, regression), deployment, and validation efforts for the upgraded software.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to integration, compliance, customer impact, and data integrity.
• Oversee change management and communication efforts to ensure a smooth transition for business users.
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer throughout the upgrade lifecycle.
• Maintain compliance with NERC/CIP, cybersecurity, and utility regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in utilities or AMI software projects.
• Proven success managing software upgrades or system implementations, preferably involving Landis+Gyr Command Center, OMS, or similar meter data management systems.
• Strong understanding of utility IT/OT integration, SCADA, AMI networks, and smart meter technologies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with AMI infrastructure, including head-end systems and meter firmware management.
• Working knowledge of utility regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a regulated environment.
• PMP certification preferred
