Job summary

FIS is seeking a Project Manager Lead to direct complex government solutions initiatives, including EBT and SNAP programs. You will partner with state agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence across the full lifecycle of multi‑year projects.

You will guide cross-functional teams, manage client relationships at the executive level, and drive governance, risk, and communications to achieve strategic outcomes. Hybrid role with multiple U.S. locations, including Milwaukee.

Qualifications

About the Role

As a Project Manager Lead, you will lead complex government solutions initiatives supporting EBT, SNAP, and payment processing programs. You will serve as a strategic partner to state agencies and internal stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of high-impact projects. This role requires strong client relationship management, leadership across cross-functional teams, and expertise in driving projects through the full delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale EBT, SNAP, and government solutions projects from initiation through implementation and production support.
• Serve as the primary client-facing leader, managing relationships with state agencies, executives, vendors, and key stakeholders.
• Define project scope, schedules, budgets, governance, and resource plans while ensuring alignment with client and business objectives.
• Drive risk management, issue resolution, and executive communications to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor project teams and promote delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and operational readiness across multiple initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex technology, payments, or government program implementations in a client-facing environment.
• Strong knowledge of EBT, SNAP, government benefits programs, or related payment processing solutions.
• Advanced expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and manage competing priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management credential.
• Experience supporting government agencies, public sector technology programs, or regulated environments.
• Prior experience within the financial technology, payments, EBT, or SNAP industry.
