Job description

Project Manager II Responsibilities
  • May train and provide direction to Project Assistant and/or Project Manager I in maintaining project-required tracking devices.
  • Plan and organize a project under the direction of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
  • Participate in the supervision and training of Project Assistants and/or Project Manager I.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within guidelines of corporate policies.
  • Negotiate the terms and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project.
  • Liaison with primary client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
  • Under the direction of Project Manager III and/or Sr. Project Manager, support construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure the project is being built on schedule and within budget.
  • Anticipate, prevent, and resolve potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Direct the preparation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client and negotiate all change quotations to a successful conclusion.
  • Prepare monthly costing reports under the supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and maintain a good relationship with the client.
  • May assist with the development of new business opportunities.
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a project management role.
  • Strong background or previous project experience with BAS / BMS Controls, Telecommunications infrastructure, EPMS, and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Effective performance management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office, Oracle.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Professional interaction skills with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
Travel
  • Up to 25% of time may be required on travel.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed primarily on active construction sites and at office locations.
  • Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending indoors under fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level typically low to medium, may be loud on site.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
