Job description

Position Summary

Senior Project Manager responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of small to medium size projects or a single large project. The role leads and manages a team of project managers and project assistants, develops new business opportunities, and maintains client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate boundaries.
  • Supervise day‑to‑day administration of jobs and supervise multiple Project Managers and their assistants.
  • Train and supervise Project Managers on company philosophy and systems.
  • Negotiate and oversee preparation of change orders.
  • Maintain required logs to track project progress.
  • Coordinate maintenance of project tracking devices with Project Assistant.
  • Liaise with prime client and architect/engineer to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor construction activities with onsite foreman and area superintendent to ensure schedule and budget compliance.
  • Investigate serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines.
  • Represent company/project in client and subcontractor meetings.
  • Prepare monthly costing reports.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, equipment rental, income/expenses) to protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in electrical construction.
  • Experience managing electrical construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, business acumen, and integrity.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, construction, and related technology.
  • Ability to forecast financials and manage project budgets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office); experience with Oracle and Accubid preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience mentoring and managing others.
  • Business development and heavy client interaction experience.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation/Management Systems, Telecommunications infrastructure, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Experience with construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
Travel
  • 10-25%
Working Conditions
  • Work may be performed onsite and in office; primarily on active construction sites.
  • Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending.
  • Work primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions.
  • Noise level low to medium; can be loud on a job site.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
