Project Manager II

Salary: 88,300.00 - 132,300.00 USD

This position is based in APi’s New Brighton, Minnesota office and supports the National Roofing and Siding line of business. The Project Manager II has direct responsibility for the successful delivery and financial performance of assigned construction projects. This position manages project scope, schedule, safety, quality, budget, profitability, and customer relationships from planning through closeout. The Project Manager II operates with a high level of independence and manages larger and more complex projects. The position also has leadership responsibilities, including mentoring less-experienced project team members, sharing best practices, and helping improve project management processes. The role’s primary accountability remains the successful execution of assigned projects. Project responsibilities may include supporting bid proposals, developing project schedules and execution plans, reviewing project progress, managing change orders, coordinating labor and materials, overseeing subcontractors, and tracking and forecasting project costs and profitability.

  • Partner with the Senior Project Manager and field leadership to promote safe, efficient, and profitable project execution.
  • Support the onboarding and development of project management team members as needed.
  • Participate in lessons-learned discussions and continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen project execution across the National Roofing and Siding team.
  • Develop and maintain long-range project plans and schedules
  • Monitor and manage projects tocomply withsafety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.
  • Monitor project billingsand collectionsfor accuracy andmaintaina positive cash flow.
  • Continuallymonitorprogress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines.
  • Identifychanges in projects thatimpactcost, schedule, or labor requirements.
  • Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed intimelymanner.
  • Conductproject planning reviews before, during and after the project.
  • Ensure workcomplies withcustomer specifications.
Required Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar field preferred.
  • Five years of Project Management experience in the construction industry
Travel Requirements
  • This position is based in APi’s New Brighton, Minnesota office.
  • Travel to project sites, customer locations, and other APi locations is expected to average approximately two days per week.
  • Travel frequency may vary based on project schedules and business needs.
Compensation

The base salary range is $88,300 - $132,300 annually. This role is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity with a target potential of 15% of base salary, based on individual and company performance and subject to the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

  • Role requires roughly 50% sitting and computer use and 50% standing, walking, or moving throughout the job site.
  • Ability to work comfortably at elevated heights.
  • Must be comfortable working in an active construction job site environment.
  • Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face-to-face, conference calls, and online meetings.
  • Will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant and jobsite environments. PPE required in plant, yard, or construction areas includes: hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, steel-toed boots, high visibility vest, hearing protection (designated areas), and gloves.
