Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to manage permit submissions for the DC Metro region. You will interact with regulatory agencies, review submittal requirements, and drive timely status updates across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in project coordination within construction/permitting, along with strong organizational and communication skills. On-site work in the DC area with standard business hours is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of project coordination in construction, permitting, or related industries.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organization, communication, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with municipal or regulatory agencies in the DC Metro area preferred.
  • Familiarity with permitting software or online submission portals preferred.
  • Must be able to work regular business hours 8:00 am–5:00 PM EST.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must reliably commute to client locations within the DC Metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications via online portals to regulatory agencies across the D.C. Metro region.
  • Communicate directly with agency officials to confirm submittal requirements, verify processes, follow up on application statuses, and resolve permit-related issues.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with agency representatives and clients as needed.
  • Track and manage permit applications through all review stages, ensuring timely responses to comments and required revisions.
  • Conduct quality control reviews on client-provided permit documents prior to submission.
  • Identify potential permitting risks and schedule impacts, and collaborate with Senior Project Managers to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries via email and phone, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Prepare project updates, reports, and presentation materials for client meetings.
  • Provide regular internal updates on permit status and contribute to team meetings and project planning discussions.

  • Experience coordinating with municipal or regulatory agencies within the DC-metro area preferred

  • Familiarity with permitting software or online submission portals preferred

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Must be able to reliably commute to client locations within the DC Metro area

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

  • Ability to work regular business hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM EST
