Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Permitting Analyst to manage construction and transportation right-of-way permits for major infrastructure projects in the Washington, DC area. You will interface with Client Project Managers, regulators, and external teams to address needs and resolve issues.

The role emphasizes data management in SharePoint and PowerBI, with duties including reviewing site plans, TCPs, and multiple permit databases, plus timekeeping and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering, data science, project management, economics, or construction management.
  • 2 years in a detail-oriented work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Project management skills.
  • Preferred: undergraduate degree in engineering, data science, planning, economics, or construction management.
  • Preferred: experience managing large datasets in Excel or other database management software, including PowerBI, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Ability to perform duties with reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work 8:00 am–5:00 pm EST.
  • Accurate and detailed daily timekeeping required.

Responsibilities

  • Review Civil Site Plans and Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).
  • Apply for DDOT Construction/Excavation Permits through TOPS database.
  • Apply for DOEE Approvals through Storm and Groundwater System database.
  • Apply for DOB Permits through SCOUT and ProjectDox database.
  • Track all permit applications and report to senior management.
  • Track permit review comments and attend regular meetings.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in engineering, Data Science, Project Management, Economics, or Construction Management
  • 2 years in a detail-oriented work environment
