Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) in Sparks, NV is seeking a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release and closeout, delivering on time and within budget. You will develop plans, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters in a hybrid office/remote setting.

This role supports the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area, with responsibilities from initiation to milestone tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including project initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort, services only, spares, or projects with minimal deliverables.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.
