Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release, coordinating schedules, budgets, and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders. This role introduces people management and requires strong technical interface skills in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Responsibilities include initiating and closing projects, resource planning, and tracking milestones, while maintaining clear communications and rigorous reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
• 2+ years of project management experience in a related or technical field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• PM certification (PMP) preferred; PLM familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify resources and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, or services only.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track progress against milestones, budgets, and performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and maintain focus on project success.
