Job summary

Basic Systems Inc. is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee technical, administrative, budget and schedule management of assigned engineering projects, including compressor stations and pipeline facilities.

You will coordinate teams, maintain schedules, monitor budgets, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables while communicating with clients, vendors and internal disciplines. The role requires hands-on project leadership, familiarity with OSHA 10 and experience with Primavera P6/MS Project;

Qualifications

• Experience managing small projects (5,000 manhours or less) with a six to eight person team.
• Strong written and verbal communication with internal teams, customers and vendors.
• Experience preparing estimates and proposals.
• Able to delegate tasks to engineers, designers and drafters.
• Familiar with contract/work scope management for scope, schedule and cost.
• Ability to prepare reports as directed by customers or use Company databases.
• Experience setting up document/drawing lists and punch lists at project start and monitoring progress.
• Experience reviewing and approving invoices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide progress updates.
• Coordinate and supervise engineering activities to meet goals and specs.
• Prepare project estimates and proposals for new work.
• Provide monthly billing information to Sr. PM and accounting for invoicing.
• Attend customer and site meetings for reviews, commissioning, and startup.
• Lead design reviews and kick-off meetings.
• Assist with Marketing/Sales presentations to aid future business.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or business administration with a major in project management and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering and/or project coordination of similar projects

Four (4) year technology degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in engineering and/or project coordination of similar projects

Two (2) year technology degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in engineering and/or project coordination of similar projects
