Job summary

Henderson Group in Cary, NC is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work. You will manage roadway, bridge, and utility projects from preconstruction to closeout, direct field teams, and own budget, schedule, and margins.

You will serve as the primary liaison with NCDOT, owners, engineers, and vendors, oversee subcontractors, and drive safety on every site. A background in NCDOT projects and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil/highway/bridge/utility work.
• NCDOT project experience as PM of record required.
• Experience leading superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances.
• Lead teams to hit production, quality and safety standards.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders; manage subcontractor performance.
• Run weekly project meetings and report to leadership.
• Collaborate with estimating on bids and handoffs.
• Maintain strong safety culture on sites.
