Lead a High-Visibility Financial Reporting Initiative
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Project Manager to lead a large-scale annual 1099 reporting initiative involving more than 70 business units, multiple internal teams, and external reporting partners.
This is a hands-on project leadership role for someone who takes ownership, drives accountability, and keeps complex initiatives moving toward critical deadlines. You'll coordinate financial data collection, manage competing priorities, resolve reporting issues, and ensure the organization is prepared for accurate and timely year-end filings.
The reporting systems and processes are already established. Success will depend on your ability to organize stakeholders, proactively follow up on deliverables, resolve obstacles, and personally assist with data validation and reconciliation when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual 1099 reporting project from planning and data collection through filing, corrections, and closeout.
Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, risks, and escalation plans.
Coordinate activities across 70+ business units, Finance, Tax, Technology, Operations, and external vendors.
Establish clear ownership, deadlines, communication expectations, and accountability across participating teams.
Proactively follow up with business stakeholders to obtain missing information, resolve outstanding issues, and prevent delays.
Coordinate the collection and validation of approximately 70–90 spreadsheets containing financial reporting data.
Work hands‑on with Excel to review data, investigate discrepancies, track errors, and support reconciliation efforts.
Partner with business units and financial reporting teams to resolve data‑quality issues and reporting exceptions.
Lead project meetings, track decisions and action items, and provide clear progress updates to leadership.
Monitor filing readiness, identify risks to critical deadlines, and coordinate corrective actions.
Support post‑filing corrections and recommend improvements to future reporting cycles.
