Job summary

MPI, a leading NYC-based interiors contractor recruiter, seeks a Project Manager - Commercial Interiors to oversee multiple award-to-completion projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractors while serving as the primary client contact and leading meetings to report on schedule, cost, and risk.

You should have 5+ years of PM experience with commercial interiors, a strong grasp of construction means and methods, and experience with Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial interiors.
  • Proven track record delivering Class A office, retail, and hospitality fit-out projects in NYC.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and change management.

About Our Client

Our client is an established and growing commercial interiors contractor with an outstanding reputation across the NYC market. They partner with leading landlords, developers, retailers, hospitality brands, and corporate occupiers to deliver sophisticated workplace, retail, and dining environments across Manhattan and the boroughs.

Job Description
  • Manage multiple commercial interior construction projects simultaneously from award through completion.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, landlords, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting on schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Coordinate with superintendents to ensure quality, safety, and productivity targets are achieved.
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges proactively to maintain delivery milestones.
  • Ensure all projects meet company standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager - Commercial Interiors should have:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial interiors general contractor.
  • Proven track record delivering Class A office, retail, and restaurant/hospitality fit-out projects within New York City.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, client relationships, and project stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and other construction management software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
