Job summary

Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, CA, seeks a full-time Project Manager for the Automated Synthesis Facility node. You will manage budget, schedule, and scope; coordinate with UCLA and Sunthetics; and drive NSF reporting and governance across multiple teams.

You’ll lead cross-institution collaboration, track milestones (Alpha/Beta/Robust User Service), and ensure compliance with 2 CFR and programmatic terms. On-site role with periodic partner-site engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, engineering, CS, information systems, or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent required by the award’s terms.
• Minimum four years’ experience in project management coordinating scientists and engineers.
• Experience managing budget, schedule, and scope on multi-institution projects.
• Experience working with diverse colleagues; strong written and oral communication.
• Strategic and analytical thinking with effective collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Node Director in managing budget, schedule, scope, and subaward invoicing.
• Maintain the Strategic Implementation Plan and PEP as living documents.
• Drive execution against the PCL Timeline milestones and risk register.
• Lead NSF reporting: quarterly reports and annual/final reports via Research.gov.
• Coordinate agendas and actions for Node Executive Committee and working groups.
• Coordinate procurement, installation, and vendor engagement activities.
• Support cross-node and NSF-facing engagement and user onboarding.
• Track Node metrics and respond to user requests; support compliance efforts.
