Job summary

  • Provide status updates and communicate progress to the Operations Manager.
  • Manage procurement and budgeting to align with costs and financial goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate resources for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local codes, and customer specs.
  • Support project closeout including final documentation, testing, and inspections.

Project Manager - Fire Alarm Systems

Location: Woodside, NY (Overseeing Projects Throughout New York City)

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multiple simultaneous fire alarm installation projects.
  • Oversee project execution from planning through successful completion.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, contracts, change order requests, subcontractor change orders, and related project documentation.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction trades to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Provide regular project status updates and communicate progress to the Operations Manager.
  • Manage project procurement and budgeting to ensure alignment with estimated costs and project financial goals.
  • Conduct project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and customer specifications.
  • Support project closeout activities, including final documentation, testing, and inspections.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing fire alarm installation.
  • Must have experience overseeing projects on an active construction site.
  • Experience overseeing the installation, programming, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Experience designing fire alarm systems and preparing submittal packages.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm manufacturers such as Edwards (preferred), Notifier, Fire‑Lite, Gamewell‑FCI, Siemens, Simplex, Bosch, or other major manufacturers.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes, industry regulations, and trade standards.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout New York State as needed.

  • NICET Certification (Level II or higher preferred).

Salary starting at $120,000
