Job description

G&E Partners is exclusively supporting an established Heavy Civil Contractor as they continue to strengthen their Water/Wastewater operations.

The business has developed a strong reputation for delivering complex public infrastructure, with a portfolio spanning water and wastewater treatment facilities, underground utilities, large-diameter pipelines, sewer, stormwater, and associated heavy civil work.

They are now looking to add a Project Manager who can take genuine ownership of major projects and become a key part of the delivery team. This is not a role built around simply managing paperwork and pushing schedules — it is an opportunity for a technically strong Project Manager to influence how projects are planned, delivered, and ultimately perform.

Working closely with senior construction leadership and the field team, you'll have a direct influence over project strategy, commercial performance, client relationships, and operational execution.

Why this opportunity stands out:
  • Real ownership from pre-construction through closeout — you'll be trusted with the overall success of your projects, rather than being confined to one area of delivery.
  • Technically interesting work across treatment facilities, underground utilities, pipelines, sewer, stormwater, and heavy civil infrastructure.
  • A genuine seat at the table with owners, engineers, field leadership, subcontractors, and executive management, giving you exposure to every side of project delivery.
  • The opportunity to influence commercial outcomes, project strategy, scheduling, procurement, change management, and field performance.
  • A business where strong Project Managers can build a long‑term career through the quality of work they deliver and the relationships they develop.
The Opportunity:

You'll take the lead on projects from the earliest stages of pre-construction through final completion, bringing together the commercial, operational, and technical sides of the job.

You'll be responsible for creating the framework for successful delivery — developing schedules, establishing project controls, managing budgets and forecasts, coordinating resources, and ensuring the field team has what it needs to execute effectively.

Alongside the General Superintendent and Project Superintendent, you'll help drive productivity, quality, safety, and schedule performance in the field while maintaining strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and trade partners.

You'll also play a meaningful role in the commercial side of the business, managing contracts, change orders, claims, cost control, forecasting, and negotiations. For someone who enjoys being involved in the full picture of a project, this provides considerably more visibility and influence than a purely site‑focused PM position.

What We're Looking For:
  • A Project Manager with 7–10+ years of progressive experience delivering Water/Wastewater, Heavy Civil, and underground utility projects.
  • Strong experience across treatment facilities, large-diameter pipelines, sewer, stormwater, water infrastructure, or related public works.
  • Someone who understands both the technical and commercial sides of construction and is comfortable taking ownership of project outcomes.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, change management, forecasting, and project controls.
  • A confident client‑facing professional who can build credibility with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
  • Experience delivering public works projects and navigating municipal, state, and federal contract requirements.
  • A strong leader who can work effectively across office and field teams and bring people together around successful project delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred, although significant relevant experience will be considered.
