Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Own the project planning process, define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Develop and manage detailed schedules with resource allocation.
  • Create comprehensive resource plans for personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions.
  • Develop project budgets and financial targets.
  • Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact throughout lifecycle.
  • Coordinate large multi-disciplinary teams and monitor progress against plans.
  • Monitor expenditures and financial performance with cost-control measures.
  • Lead, coach and mentor teams to maintain accountability and performance.
  • Oversee program-level resource planning and staffing capabilities.
  • Promote teamwork, recognize achievements, and encourage innovation.
  • Collaborate effectively with global teams.

Job description

Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and successful delivery of large, complex, or multiple concurrent projects. Overall oversight to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while managing a large, multi-disciplinary project team. Maintains strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the water/wastewater industry.
  • Proven success in managing large-scale, complex projects within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment, preferably in water/wastewater.
  • Extensive experience leading, developing, and mentoring project managers and project engineers, fostering high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple large projects simultaneously, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategic initiatives, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating resilience and flexibility under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant project management software and tools, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is beneficial.

Job responsibilities
  • Own the project planning process, leading the definition of project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Ensure alignment with client expectations and organizational goals. Account for intricate interdependencies and broader strategic implications.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules using appropriate scheduling software, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocation.
  • Develop comprehensive resource plans, ensuring the availability of necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to support project execution.
  • Proactively identify and assess potential project risks. Develop and implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Develop project budgets based on detailed cost estimations, setting financial targets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the client and key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood and incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Orchestrate the activities of large, multi-disciplinary delivery teams, providing clear direction and ensuring seamless collaboration. Monitor project progress against established plans, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues
  • Monitor project expenditures and financial performance against the budget, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns or savings opportunities, and implementing cost-control measures as needed, in close collaboration with the assigned Project Controller.
  • Lead, coach and mentor team to ensure a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation at an organizational or program level, ensuring adequate staffing and capabilities across projects.
  • Cultivate a positive organizational environment by recognizing achievements, promoting teamwork, and encouraging innovative problem-solving at the project portfolios level.
