Job summary

DFW Movers & Erectors, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Project Manager to lead prospecting, client relations, and end-to-end project quotes for moving and rigging heavy machinery.

You’ll work with operations to scope projects and deliver high-quality, profitable results while maintaining safety standards. The role requires a background in rigging or industrial equipment sales, strong proposal skills, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; eight years of related experience or training in rigging, industrial machinery, or a similar field may substitute.
  • Three to five years in rigging or industrial equipment sales; rigging and/or material handling experience preferred
  • Proven track record of business development, prospecting and closing profitable work

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a prospecting plan to generate qualified leads and build a referral network
  • Create and execute an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives
  • Conduct discovery meetings with customers to understand needs and scope
  • Create and deliver proposals to customer decision makers
  • Estimate costs and prepare tailored proposals ensuring profitability
  • Ensure timely submission of estimates and submittals
  • Close sales by selling value and overcoming objections

What You’ll Do:

As Project Manager, you will build strong customer relationships, identify new opportunities, and represent the full scope of the services that DFW Movers & Erectors has to offer. Your day-to-day work will center on prospecting, meeting with clients, defining project needs, and preparing clear and competitive proposals that balance quality, safety, and profitability. You’ll work closely with our operations team to ensure each project is scoped accurately and delivered with the high standards our customers have trusted for over 45 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a prospecting plan to generate new qualified leads and build a referral network
  • Create and execute an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives
  • Conduct discovery meetings with existing and new customers to uncover needs with a clear understanding of our scope
  • Create and deliver solutions and proposal presentations to customer’s decision-making team
  • Develop potential solutions by estimating and preparing tailored proposals
  • Ensure timely submission of estimates, proposals, and submittals
  • Close sales by selling value and overcoming objections
  • Coordinate front-end project development with Operations team
  • Maintain sales log and documentation of all quotes, accepted or rejected
  • Identify areas for customer satisfaction improvement and repeat business and communicate those issues and possible solutions to management
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction or related field preferred. Eight years of related experience or training in rigging, industrial machinery, or a similar field may be considered in place of a degree
  • At least three to five years in rigging or industrial equipment sales; rigging and/or material handling experience preferred
  • Proven track record of business development results including prospecting new business and closing profitable work
  • Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting and building relationships with decision makers within a complex sales environment. Must be comfortable with all levels from field craft to executives
  • Mechanically inclined and a proven track record of success in rigging, lifting, fabrication, maintenance or transportation execution
  • Strong aptitude for understanding project costs and accurately estimating bids to ensure profitability
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic team and actively participate in successful outcomes
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management. Large, ongoing project experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and cloud-based estimating software. WrightPlan / Field Solutions experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license
