Job summary

Valor Specialized Rigging seeks an Estimator / Business Development Representative to identify opportunities and develop client relationships in South Texas. You will perform site assessments and prepare accurate project estimates and proposals, coordinating with operations to ensure successful execution.

The role requires reading construction drawings, understanding electrical/mechanical systems, and tracking multiple large projects with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years’ proven sales experience with large corporations or comparable field preferably within construction, general contracting, transportation/distribution, data center, crating/packing or rigging industry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with a good understanding of Electrical systems, Mechanical systems, and industrial equipment installation.
• Willingness to travel as needed and established market presence in the location.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Estimator / Business Development Representative to help expand our presence throughout the South Texas market.

Position Overview

The Estimator / Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, performing site assessments, and preparing accurate project estimates and proposals. This individual will serve as a key resource for customers while working closely with operations teams to ensure successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has experience in industrial, commercial, mechanical, or construction environments and possesses a strong understanding of rigging operations, electrical systems, machinery installation, and project estimating.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently contact and manage leads and prospect lists.
• Coordinate job walks and complete customer bids/estimates to accurately price projects.
• Ability to organize, develop and track multiple large project opportunities from initial funding to final close.
• Coordinate with operations on requirements for execution and to bid multiple contractors on projects. Identify competitive influences and pricing.
• Build and maintain customer relationships with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentations, negotiations persuasion and listening.
• Develop highly effective relationships with existing and new clients, business partners, operations management, and support staff.
• Consistently gain knowledge regarding industry and market information and trends.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Manage customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
• Administer historical records by maintaining data on area and customer sales.
• Local travel required for client prospecting and client site meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)

• High School diploma or equivalent necessary; a bachelor’s degree in project or construction management or related degree a plus.
• Minimum three (3) years’ proven sales experience with large corporations or comparable field preferably within construction, general contracting, transportation/distribution, data center, crating/packing or rigging industry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with a good understanding of Electrical systems, Mechanical systems, and industrial equipment installation.
• Proven track record in the market (location) serving, ability to travel as needed preferred.
• Strong numerical data analysis abilities and mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to excel in a competitive, fast-paced sales and services environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, sales techniques and project management skills.
• Exceptional business acumen, as well as analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly self-directed, self-motivated, adaptable, and outgoing.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and CRM software.
