Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Project Manager to lead capital projects across multiple sites. You will coordinate Engineering, Operations and Facilities to develop scopes, manage budgets and install capital equipment while meeting regulatory requirements.

The role demands a track record of delivering complex projects on schedule, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work with external suppliers and contractors to drive alignment and successful production launches.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-site teams on design, development, installation, release, and production of new processes and equipment.
  • Plan and implement equipment improvements to enhance production efficiency, achieve cost containment goals, and support plant growth and safety initiatives.
  • Work effectively within a highly cross-functional environment involving customers, manufacturing, product development, supply chain, production control, and logistics teams.
  • Partner with external suppliers and contractors to establish delivery schedules for components, tooling, and services, coordinating with Supply Chain and Logistics as needed.
  • Oversee capital equipment installations, ensuring workmanship and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain inventories of maintenance supplies, critical spare parts, and repair components at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including participation in 6S activities.
  • Follow established financial procedures when procuring equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Coordinate planning and engagement of outside plant engineering services as required.
  • Drive alignment across multiple foundries to enable simultaneous production capabilities.
  • Supervise external engineering service providers and contractors as needed.
  • Ensure capital equipment installations are completed on time and according to design specifications.
  • Lead the transition of projects from development and qualification phases into ongoing production.
  • Develop and manage maintenance and capital project budgets.
  • Support programs from prototype development through production launch.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

PCC is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Project Manager to lead special projects within a multi-site organization. The Project Manager’s primary role will be coordinating efforts between Engineering, Operations, and Facilities teams to develop and implement capital projects. This role includes oversight of project scope development, project approvals, budget management, installation of capital equipment, and ensuring project milestones are achieved on schedule. The Project Manager will ensure all projects are completed in alignment with organizational objectives, company policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • Master’s degree (MS) or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience in project management, plant engineering, or a related role preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer-controlled, pneumatic, and hydraulic manufacturing systems.
