Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience with project management training.
• Must hold a PMP certification; PMI-ACP/Lean Six Sigma belts desirable.
• Veteran status is required; teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient with Zoom for virtual classes and LMS.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in-person and virtual environments.
• Manage resources and coordinate with training clients and staff.
• Handle technologies needed to develop, manage, and deliver training.
• Prepare training materials, assignments, and assessments; grade coursework.
• Build positive relationships and maintain student records.
• Deliver required training and perform additional duties as assigned.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Management Instructor will work with students who are taking classes to improve their knowledge or career skills. Prepare students to take Project Management certification exams. Interacts with students in a virtual and face-to-face environment to improve knowledge and or career skills, provides coaching and assistance in the classroom to ensure client success.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides instruction to training clients in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Manages resources, including working with employees and training clients.
• Manages the technologies required to develop, manage, and deliver training.
• Prepares materials for training courses, assignments, and tests, and grades studentperformance.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with students.
• Maintains required records for student profiles, course attendance and other necessaryinformation.
• Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training to clients.
• Performs other related duties such as assigned.

• Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive and diversified background with at least 5 years of related experience.
• Must hold a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. PMI-ACP and LSSGreenbelt or Blackbelt certifications are optional but desired.
• Must be a military veteran.
• Must have teaching experience.
• Must be proficient with Zoom.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or telephone.
• Prolonged periods standing while instructing in-person classes.
• Must be ready to travel up to 50%. A valid passport is a plus.

Independent Contractor Status

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee position. Contractors are paid a lump-sum fee per course and receive no company employee benefits, including health insurance, paid leave, or retirement contributions. PM-ProLearn does not withhold income, Social Security, or Medicare taxes, except as required by law, and reports payments to the IRS on Form 1099-NEC as required, providing a copy to the contractor. Contractors are solely responsible for their own federal, state, and local taxes, including self-employment taxes and any required estimated tax payments. Contractors operate independently and may provide services to other clients, including other training providers. Contractors are responsible for their own business expenses and travel expenses except those expressly covered by PM-ProLearn below.

Course Fees and Travel Expenses

Virtual courses: $3,000 flat fee per course, paid as a lump sum.

Courses requiring travel: $3,500 flat fee per course, paid as a lump sum. The higher fee helps defray meals and incidental expenses, which remain the contractor’s responsibility. PM-ProLearn does not pay contractors a per diem.

PM-ProLearn pays for approved course-related airfare, rental cars, and hotel accommodations separately from the course fee. Other travel expenses are the contractor’s responsibility unless PM-ProLearn agrees in advance to cover them.
