Job summary

Hires Group in Atlanta is seeking a senior transportation engineering leader to oversee complex highway and transit projects, advising clients and project teams while guiding budgets and schedules.

You will lead design for BRT, LRT, Complete Streets, and roadway projects, develop plans and specs, mentor engineers, and benefit from a hybrid work arrangement (3 days from home) with 401(k) match and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 8+ years of relevant civil/transportation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation engineering design projects including BRT, LRT, and roadway design.
• Develop contract plans, specs, and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal design standards.

Take on a senior leadership role overseeing complex highway and transportation transit projects, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams. Lead the delivery of roadway, interchange, and arterial reconstruction designs while guiding budgets, schedules, and quality outcomes.

The Job:

• Lead and have project oversight over transportation engineering design projects, such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Complete Streets, transit facilities, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and roadway design.
• Develop contract plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with state and federal design standards.
• Perform engineering studies, design calculations, and quality control reviews of models, drawings, and reports.
• Guide project execution by managing scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Mentor and train engineers.
• Compensation: $155,000 - $185,000.
• Work Environment: Hybrid flexibility with 3 days work from home.
