Job summary

Hires Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation transit projects in the Atlanta area.

The role emphasizes roadway design, traffic engineering, BRT/LRT, and smart transportation systems, with mentorship of junior engineers and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed PE is required or in process.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in civil/transportation engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver transportation infrastructure design tasks (BRT, LRT, Complete Streets, transit facilities, traffic engineering, ITS, roadway design).
• Develop and review roadway geometry, plans, and design documents to ensure compliance with standards.
• Conduct site reviews and inspections of transportation facilities to verify design intent and quality.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Job description

Deliver the planning, design, and delivery of innovative roadway and transportation transit projects. This role provides the opportunity to shape project direction in areas such as roadway design, structures, traffic engineering, and intelligent transportation systems.

The Job:

• Develop and deliver transportation infrastructure design tasks, such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Complete Streets, transit facilities, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and roadway design.
• Develop and review roadway geometry, plans, and design documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, supporting high‑quality, constructible solutions.
• Conduct site reviews and inspections of transportation facilities, verifying design intent, construction quality, and adherence to project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Compensation: $135,000-$175,000
• Work Environment: Hybrid flexibility with 3 days work from home.
