Job summary

Technical Hires Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Lead to steer high-impact roadway projects in the Houston area. You will guide design teams, own technical ownership, and coordinate with clients across major transportation initiatives shaping communities in Houston.

The role emphasizes leadership, design ownership, and strong visibility with project stakeholders, including TxDOT, with hybrid work flexibility and a clear career path toward senior roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation design projects including roadway geometry, interchanges, arterials, and complete streets.
• Quality Assurance of plan production to meet corporate standards.
• Collaborate with sales to respond to RFPs.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and TxDOT.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal design standards.
• Perform engineering studies, calculations, and QC reviews of models, drawings, and reports.
• Utilize MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer to enhance capabilities.

Job description

Lead high-impact roadway projects while guiding teams through design and client coordination. This role offers technical ownership, meaningful team leadership, and strong visibility across major transportation projects shaping communities throughout Houston.

The job:

• Help lead transportation engineering design projects, including roadway geometry, interchanges, arterials, and complete streets.
• Quality Assurance of plan production to ensure corporate standards are met
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop strong responses to RFPs
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, local governments and TxDOT.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with state and federal design standards.
• Perform engineering studies, design calculations, and quality control reviews of models, drawings, and reports.
• Use tools such as MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, enhancing technical capabilities.
