Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Intern to assist the Project Team on commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. The role supports the Project Manager across workflow, document control, and field coordination.

Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation, distributing drawings, tracking deliveries, and assisting with closeout. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or are pursuing one and have strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Science, or a related field; completed or in progress.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• Familiarity with project management/document control software (e.g., Autodesk Forma, MS Project, Bluebeam).
• Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
• Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail.
• Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in driving project flow from inception to completion.
• Assist with project document control including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and correspondence.
• Ensure documents are centrally saved in the project’s document control software.
• Verify correct drawings are distributed to field.
• Support project schedule and integrate into overall project and manpower schedule.
• Track deliveries of major equipment and subs and anticipate delivery dates.
• Coordinate with field personnel to ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted.
• Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing.
• Assist field personnel in closeout of project.
• Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager with recommendations.
