Job summary

EMCOR Construction Services seeks a Project Intern to support the Project Team on commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. You will assist in coordinating project information, maintaining documents, and ensuring accurate distribution to field teams.

The role emphasizes strong organization, communication, and teamwork while working within safety and company policies on a site-based environment. This internship offers exposure to multi-market construction processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Science, or a related field; completed or in progress.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Familiarity with project management/document control software (Autodesk Forma, MS Project, Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager in driving project’s overall flow effectively from inception to completion.
  • Assist with project document control, including but not limited to, insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, correspondence, etc.
  • Ensure documents are centrally saved in the project’s chosen document control software.
  • Verify correct drawings are distributed to field.
  • Support project schedule showing completion, delivery dates and sub requirements. Integrate into overall project and manpower schedule as required or directed by the Project Manager.
  • Track deliveries of major equipment and subs indicating shipping requirements and anticipating delivery dates. (Request proper delivery notice at that time.)
  • Coordinate with field personnel to ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted as required.
  • Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing.
  • Assist field personnel in closeout of project.
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Project Manager with recommendation for resolution.
  • Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager or Asst. Project Manager.

We are a full-service mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and specialty piping contractor that offers design and construction services for a variety of markets. Our customers include commercial, medical, and technology, as well as municipalities and government agencies.

Job Summary

Position Requirements And Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Science, or a related field; completed or in progress.
Computer Skills
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Familiarity with project management/document control software preferred (e.g., Autodesk Forma, MS Project, Bluebeam).

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
