Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Intern to gain real-world experience in HVAC and plumbing projects. You will assist with drafting ductwork, piping layouts, and plumbing systems under the supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.

A strong team mindset and active participation in our employee-owned culture are essential. Preferred students are pursuing Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or related fields, with at least 2 years of progress toward the degree and a GPA of 3.0+.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Minimum 2 years completed toward degree with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Active participant in an employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on HVAC and plumbing projects.
• Assist in drafting HVAC ductwork, piping layouts and plumbing systems.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and run calculations using industry software.
• Perform assignments under direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.
• Engage with mentoring and young professional programs within the company.
