Job summary

Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation (VT-ARC) is seeking a highly skilled Project Finance Manager to support a Department of War (DoW) sponsored S&T Center. This role develops and maintains project financial plans, monitors budgets, and ensures compliance with 2 CFR Part 200, FAR, and GAAP.

You will partner with Program Managers and leadership to provide financial oversight and guidance across VT-ARC’s government-funded initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a government contracting or federal acquisition environment.
• Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200, FAR, and GAAP.
• Proven ability to develop and manage project budgets and financial plans.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Unanet, Excel).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project finance plans for VT-ARC programs, including budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
• Monitor project financial performance and ensure execution aligns with approved plans.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to Program Managers and leadership to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with federal acquisition requirements, organizational policies, and GAAP.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Support audits and reviews related to project financials and compliance.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial documentation for projects and corporate records.
• Facilitate communication between Finance, Program Management, and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
