Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accountant II for its Project Finance team in Orlando, FL. The role emphasizes ownership of project accounting, fixed assets, month-end close, and accurate financial reporting.

You will work with cross-functional teams to support audits and ad-hoc requests, driving process improvements and documentation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, independent, and capable of delivering high-quality work while seeking better accounting practices and efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, project subledger, and journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries per GAAP, including fixed asset transactions and depreciation.
• Reconcile fixed assets, construction in progress, inventory, and related balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare schedules, roll-forwards, and reconcile project-level transactions to GL for large portfolios.
• Investigate and resolve complex accounting discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare cleanup entries to minimize financial risk and safeguard assets.
• Analyze business transactions and advise on appropriate GAAP treatment.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset, inventory, and project accounting records.
• Support financial reporting, audits, and ad-hoc requests.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate manual accounting processes.
