Job summary

Aston Carter in Orlando, FL seeks an Accountant II to support project accounting, fixed assets, month-end close, and variance analyses. You will work with Finance to ensure accurate reporting and drive process improvements in a hybrid, Monday–Friday environment.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, a accounting degree, and strong Excel/ERP experience. Candidates should be detailed, proactive, and capable of independent work while collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, project subledger activity, and journal entries between projects and the general ledger.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Experience with fixed assets, project accounting, capital expenditures, or construction accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries per GAAP, including fixed assets and depreciation.
• Explain journal entry impacts on financial statements for accuracy.
• Reconcile fixed assets, construction in progress, inventory, and related accounts.
• Prepare schedules and roll forwards; reconcile project-level transactions to GL.
• Resolve complex accounting discrepancies related to fixed assets and inventory.
• Prepare correcting and cleanup entries to minimize risk.
• Analyze transactions and determine appropriate GAAP-based treatment.
• Maintain fixed asset, inventory, and project accounting records for reporting.
• Support audits, ad-hoc reporting, and process improvements.
• Document key accounting processes and drive efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with Finance groups for ad-hoc reporting and audits.
