Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Tampa, FL for a hybrid role. The Sr Accounting Specialist will ensure ledger integrity, prepare complex journal entries, and support month-end close, tax compliance, and audits while driving process improvements in a growing organization.

The position involves collaborating with billing teams, maintaining accounting policies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in accounting focused on general ledger.
• Proficient in posting journal entries including accruals/deferrals.
• Proficient in reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end close activities and coordinate with other departments to meet reporting deadlines.
• Assist with financial reporting by providing accurate supporting documentation and analysis.
• Support annual audit processes by preparing workpapers and responding to inquiries.
• Manage revenue recognition schedules and ensure accurate deferred revenue entries.
• Oversee accounting for prepaid expenses and fixed assets, including depreciation.
• Process cash transactions (ACH and wire) in a dual-approval environment.
• Reconcile bank, merchant, and corporate card statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and update accounting policies and documentation.
