Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Orlando is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to provide comprehensive financial administration for assigned projects, perform cost analysis, and ensure fiscal compliance with company policies.

This role partners with Operations to review budgets, monitor cash flow, oversee AP and month-end close, and prepare BARs and CABs, with SAP/Textura and advanced Excel skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with at least 3 years of related experience
• GAAP knowledge and adherence to company policies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor to various levels
• Ability to educate others to identify risks and reinforce compliance with company financial practices and policies
• Analytical ability to review financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies
• Knowledgeable of cash flow and able to optimize profitability
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and initiate corrective action
• Ability to manage competing activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines
• Applies innovation to improve overall operations
• High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to operate with minimal direction
• Proficient with SAP, Textura, and MS Excel

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and cost guidance for assigned projects
• Review budgets with Operations and reflect risk and improvements in line with contracts and Turner policies
• Communicate project risks to senior leadership
• Monitor billing and accounts receivable and address issues
• Maintain financial internal controls and month-end close processes
• Oversee AP for vendors and subcontractors in line with tax reporting requirements
• Prepare BARs and CABs and validate financial outcomes
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Attend on-site meetings and forecasting sessions
• Mentor junior accounting staff and share cost process knowledge
• Other duties as assigned
