Job summary

Qualifications

Role Description

The Project Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including ground-up builds, tenant improvements, and specialized interior work. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor bids, and developing accurate budgets and proposals. The Project Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, superintendents, and clients to clarify scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support pre-construction planning. This role also involves maintaining historical cost data, updating estimating tools, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Project Estimation to develop precise, competitive bids and budgets.


• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to track financial performance and support value-driven project decisions.


• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients and to present estimates clearly.


• Experience with commercial construction, including ground-up and tenant improvement projects, and familiarity with healthcare, hospitality, or corporate interiors is beneficial.


• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and reading construction drawings and specifications is preferred.


• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in construction estimating, is advantageous.


• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important.
