Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Associate Engineer to lead capital and O&M projects, ensuring quality, efficiency and technical integrity. You will manage proposals, scoping studies, funding authorizations, and CIP updates while coordinating with multiple internal teams.

Responsibilities include environmental coordination, project tracking with Primavera and Microsoft Project, and providing engineering support on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience, two at the Assistant Engineer II level.
• Master’s degree with two years of relevant experience at the Assistant Engineer II level.
• Relevant experience is assisting in capital projects management and supporting multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in day-to-day management of all Capital infrastructure project activities from planning and scoping studies to final completion.
• Obtain the project funding and authorizations through the Board letter/Board process.
• Closely monitor and control project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
• Partner across diverse internal teams to align project goals and operational needs.
• Identify and coordinate environmental assessments, review environmental reports, and maintain documentation.
• Utilize Microsoft Project, Office applications, and CIP system to track, update, and report on project metrics.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support for on-site staff and act as liaison between Engineering Services and Conveyance & Distribution Group.
