Position Overview:

A growing civil engineering team is seeking a Project Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a civil engineering professional with a strong foundation in roadway design and a minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, particularly with state or local agency projects. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to corridor modeling, plan production, and design documentation across a range of transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare roadway design plans for various civil engineering and transportation projects.

• Perform corridor modeling and design tasks using Autodesk Civil3D.

• Develop construction plans, technical drawings, and design details using AutoCAD and Civil3D.

• Conduct design and quantity calculations in support of project documentation.

• Prepare engineering reports and maintain clear project records.

• Conduct site visits and perform field inspections to support design and construction efforts.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

• Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or another ABET-accredited engineering discipline.

• 5 years of total professional experience, including 3+ years in transportation projects.

• Familiarity with INDOT, LPA, or comparable state transportation project standards.

• Eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination.

• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and roadway standards.

Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D for roadway and corridor design.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
