Position Overview:
A growing civil engineering team is seeking a Project Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a civil engineering professional with a strong foundation in roadway design and a minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, particularly with state or local agency projects. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to corridor modeling, plan production, and design documentation across a range of transportation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare roadway design plans for various civil engineering and transportation projects.
Perform corridor modeling and design tasks using Autodesk Civil3D.
Develop construction plans, technical drawings, and design details using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Conduct design and quantity calculations in support of project documentation.
Prepare engineering reports and maintain clear project records.
Conduct site visits and perform field inspections to support design and construction efforts.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or another ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
5 years of total professional experience, including 3+ years in transportation projects.
Familiarity with INDOT, LPA, or comparable state transportation project standards.
Eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination.
Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and roadway standards.
Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D for roadway and corridor design.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
