Job description

Join to apply for the Civil Transportation Engineer role at Actalent.

We are seeking a Transportation Engineer to work with Lead Project Managers on municipal and public work projects. This position offers flexibility to focus on project management or a production role. Candidates do not need to be a PE unless they aspire to become a Project Manager, in which case obtaining a PE within a year is required.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Quantity calculations & design computations
2. Geometric design of transportation infrastructure
3. Roadway design and INDOT processes
4. Traffic signal/lighting design
5. Drainage design, pipe sizing, inlet spacing, culvert design & permitting
6. Utility coordination

Additional duties may include observing construction for compliance, recording field measurements, and maintaining project records.

Project examples include Indianapolis International Airport, City of Greenwood, and various road and stormwater projects.

This is a first shift position with flexible start times (between 7AM-9AM) and a typical 40-50 hour workweek.

The salary range is $90,000 - $150,000 depending on experience. Minimum requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of transportation experience, and EI certification with a willingness to pursue PE.

Preferred skills include proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and familiarity with local regulations.
