BKF Engineers, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer with civil traffic and transportation design experience to support roadway, highway, and multimodal infrastructure projects. Based in San Jose, the role offers hybrid or remote opportunities from Redwood City or Pleasanton for the right candidate.

You will work with PMs and multidisciplinary teams across planning, design through construction support, expanding your technical expertise while aiding project delivery.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience focusing on roadways and multimodal corridors.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required; SignCAD, AGI 32, or Synchro/SimTraffic desirable.
• EIT certification preferred; strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams.
• Occasional travel to BKF offices and client sites.

Aufgaben

• Design and coordination of transportation infrastructure projects (roadways, corridors, roundabouts, ADA ramps).
• Traffic engineering design including signals, pavement markings, signage, and multimodal improvements.
• Prepare geometric design plans and profiles per Caltrans and local standards.
• Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater plans for transportation corridors.
• Coordinate with public agencies and utility providers; design transportation-related utilities.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Incorporate multimodal and sustainable design (complete streets, green infrastructure).
• Apply Federal and State codes (Caltrans, local) in design work.
• Prepare conceptual design studies and alternatives analyses.
