Job summary

Sundt seeks a Project Engineer to serve as the technical source for drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. You’ll maintain professional relations with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors; guide field engineers; and advance through steps I, II, and Senior as experience grows.

This role involves developing procurement and CPM schedules, managing submittals, cost control, and preparing close-out packages.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and related standards.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training plus 3–4 years of experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to supervise and train Field Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Understand project management plan components and change management processes.
• Develop procurement and CPM schedules; coordinate submittals and ensure contract compliance.
• Understand prime contracts, subcontracts, PO agreements, and budget controls.
• Maintain As-built contract documents; compile close-out requirements (O&M manuals, warranties).
• Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, utilities as needed.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting, agendas, minutes, and project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders, manage time extensions, and distribute documents to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims and address them promptly.
