Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the technical reference for project information, including construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. The role supports questions on drawings, specs, shop drawings, and change orders, and may assist with supervising Field Engineers.

The position offers a three-step progression (I, II, Senior) to grow skill and experience. It emphasizes collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers and requires

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and interdependencies between functions is required.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent, plus 3–4 years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to supervise/train Field Engineer positions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Understand PM plan components and change management processes for project execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with CPM schedule; coordinate submittals.
• Understand prime contract, subcontracts, POs and budgeting; manage cost and budget controls.
• Maintain as-built contract documents and close-out requirements (OMMs, warranties, etc.).
• Participate in concrete form design, takeoffs for concrete/earthwork/utilities as required.
• Plan, develop, and supervise project team members to ensure relentless execution.
• Prepare/maintain quantity reporting, meeting agendas/minutes, and project logs.
• Prepare/review change orders and time extensions; maintain change order log and distribute docs.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims and resolve effects timely.
