Job summary

Sundt is actively seeking a Project Engineer to act as the technical source of information on the project, with in-depth knowledge of drawings, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and assist with supervision of field engineers.

The role emphasizes cost control, change management, scheduling, and procurement, supporting on-time project delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise and train field engineers.
• Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of PMP components including scope, procurement, environmental, schedule, financial, quality, safety, and risk management.
• Develops a procurement schedule and integrates with the CPM schedule; coordinates submittals.
• Understands prime contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders; manages budgeting within approved costs.
• Maintains As-built contract documents; compiles close-out requirements (O&M manuals, warranties).
• Participates in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plans, develops and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepares and reviews change orders; maintains change order log and cost-control adjustments.
• Identifies and mitigates potential claims and resolves issues timely.
