Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the technical source of information for the project, with a thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders; maintains professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards; ability to understand relationships between project units.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training with 3–4 years of similar experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions if required.

Responsibilities

• Understand project management plan components and change management processes to ensure successful execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with CPM schedule; coordinate submittals and review for contract compliance.
• Manage contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders; monitor budgets and cost control within approved budgets.
• Maintain as-built documents; compile close-out requirements including manuals and warranties.
• Participate in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork and utilities as needed.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare and review change orders, manage time extensions, and distribute updated documents.
• Identify potential claims and mitigate effects to prevent claims.
