Job summary

Lechler Inc in St. Charles, IL is seeking an engineer to manage challenging projects from design to commissioning. You will coordinate with design, manufacturing, purchasing, and customers to deliver skid, lance, headers, showers, and systems, including fabrication, testing, and shipment.

The role requires 2–3 years of practical engineering experience, proficiency with AutoCAD/Inventor, and strong communication. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (3) years of practical engineering experience in manufacturing, assembly, or similar industry.
• Skid design and fabrication experience highly preferred.
• Piping and pumping systems experience a plus.
• Instrumentation knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and planning with management.
• Determine project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements.
• Assign resources to phases and elements.
• Determine project specifications by understanding customer requirements, standards and constraints.
• Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determine project schedule by studying plan and specifications and sequencing elements.
• Maintain project schedule by coordinating activities and resolving problems.
• Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes with actions.
• Prepare status reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends with recommendations.
• Manage communication with all project stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations for liquids and gases in pipes (pressure drops, allowable pressures, velocities).
• Specify equipment like pump/fan and control valve to meet standards.
• Create functional descriptions and process flow diagrams for automation/PLC programming.
• Generate approval and fabrication drawings using Inventor/AutoCAD.
• Establish contact with the customer regarding ongoing projects.
• Commission projects including mechanical and electrical components.
