Job summary

Linamar Structures Southfield is seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to manage and implement new product lines and customer projects from concept through launch. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, be proficient in Microsoft Project, and have hands-on experience with SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years in project engineering or product launch in automotive/manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project for timelines.
• Advanced SolidWorks with GD&T and design for manufacturability knowledge.
• Strong understanding of metal structures/CNC environments.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead project launch activities and end-to-end implementation.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans; track milestones and resources.
• Use SolidWorks to design and validate parts, tooling, and layouts.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and PM teams.
• Support customer meetings and design reviews, provide updates and capture feedback.
• Coordinate tooling development, procurement, and validation for production.
• Generate documentation: ECNs, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, control plans, BOMs.
• Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and manage risks.
• Support launches on-site and address production issues.
• Analyze outcomes and drive continuous improvement for future launches.
