Job summary

Keurig Dr Pepper is seeking a Project Engineer to lead manufacturing equipment improvements at the Spartanburg, SC facility. You will diagnose issues, define problems, and implement corrective actions to improve uptime, throughput, and product quality.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, OEMs, and other stakeholders to sustain improvements, drive standard work, and deliver safe, sustainable operations across the value chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline; mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or similar engineering disciplines with relevant experience will be considered.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting high-speed packaging, processing, or production equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex equipment problems using root cause analysis, data-driven decision making, engineering fundamentals, and structured CI methods.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment improvements, capital projects, startups, or reliability/productivity initiatives.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, standard work, FMEA/DFMEA, DOE, statistical analysis, or similar problem-solving and risk-management tools.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to work on floor during startup, troubleshooting, changeovers, and trials.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing equipment performance, reliability, quality, and safety issues.
• Use engineering principles, data analysis, and CI methods to define problems, test hypotheses, validate solutions, and prevent recurrence.
• Partner with plant teams, Maintenance, Engineering, and OEMs to implement corrective actions improving uptime, throughput, and stability.
• Support equipment improvement projects from problem definition through design, implementation, startup, and sustainment.
• Coordinate line changes, document critical parameters, and resolve issues during scale-up for new varieties and product qualifications.
• Define equipment performance criteria, acceptance criteria, and validation plans for improvements or capital projects.
• Establish centerlines, critical process parameters, troubleshooting playbooks, and operating windows.
• Serve as technical authority between Operations and OEMs and drive accountability for equipment performance and modifications.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA/DFMEA, and readiness reviews to ensure robust solutions.
• Develop equipment modifications, standards, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and stakeholders to align scope, schedule, budget, risks, and benefits.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other CI practices to reduce losses and improve process capability.
• Support startup and handoff activities with training, documentation, spare parts, and performance tracking.
• Build strong relationships with internal/external partners to drive repeatable solutions across sites.
• Coach and train technical resources on problem-solving, equipment fundamentals, and best practices.
