Job summary

Keurig Dr Pepper in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Project Engineer to lead problem-solving on manufacturing equipment and production systems for Alta Rounds, a plastic-free coffee system. You’ll diagnose issues, define corrective actions, validate improvements, and sustain results through standard work and documentation.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years manufacturing experience, and proficiency in Lean/Six Sigma, DOE, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with high-speed packaging, processing, or production equipment preferred.
• Root cause analysis and data-driven decision making skills.
• Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, standard work, DOE or similar tools.
• Ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Strong documentation skills and on-floor startup experience.
• Willingness to work on site in Spartanburg with travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment performance, reliability, quality, and safety issues.
• Apply engineering principles, data analysis, and CI methods to define problems and test solutions.
• Partner with plant teams, Maintenance, Engineering, CI, and OEMs to implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment improvement projects from problem definition through startup and sustainment.
• Define performance criteria and validation plans for improvements or capital projects.
• Establish centerlines, critical parameters, and operating windows for repeatable performance.
• Serve as technical authority between Operations and OEMs to influence design and controls.
• Participate in design reviews, FMEA/DFMEA, and readiness reviews to ensure robust solutions.
• Develop standard work, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge documentation.
• Coordinate scope, schedule, budget, risks, and benefits with stakeholders.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other CI practices to reduce losses and variation.
• Support vertical startup and handoff with training, spare parts, and performance tracking.
