Job summary

Orion Talent is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the interface between Process Engineering and equipment suppliers for TRISO-X/X-energy in Oak Ridge, TN. The role delivers moderately complex engineering work across multidisciplinary teams with growing independence, aligning with project requirements and regulatory standards.

Nuclear experience is not required; strong leadership, technical judgment, and collaboration are essential for success in this in-office role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field.
• Level III: five to eight years of engineering, project engineering, or related experience; Level IV: ten+ years.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities in a project-based environment.
• Experience supporting project execution and cross-functional issue resolution.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design processes, project execution practices, and documentation control.
• Experience in regulated environments with QA, configuration management, and controlled deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute moderately complex engineering scope aligned with objectives, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide technical inputs and coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional partners.
• Support resolution of technical and programmatic issues affecting scope, schedule, quality, and delivery; escalate highly complex issues.
• Support and contribute to project engineering priorities, execution strategies, and integration plans.
• Track engineering deliverables, interfaces, decisions, risks, and technical issues for assigned scope.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements and interfaces are understood and managed.
• Ensure activities comply with company processes, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Provide feedback and guidance to less experienced team members; share knowledge on best practices.
• Continue developing expertise and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes and tools.
• Maintain professional demeanor in all communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
