Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to support multiple projects as a lead technical resource. You will collaborate with management, manage change orders, and prepare complete submittals and documentation.

The role requires a engineering degree, 3+ years’ experience in HVAC/plumbing, and strong CAD/Office skills. Expect collaboration with subcontractors and a fast-paced, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and their operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with management and stakeholders and keeps them informed on issues affecting project timeline and budget.
• Manages change orders; estimates impact of project changes.
• Provides interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assembles submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procures equipment, materials, and services; participates in selecting and hiring subcontractors.
• Analyzes and resolves complex questions and problems.
